CLUTCH WEAR

There are many ways to determine clutch wear without the actual removing of the clutch. Try the following methods.

1. When the car is parked, apply the brake and release the clutch. If the car stalls your ok. If the car is still idling, you have a clutch problem.

2. Drive the car at about 10mph and shift into 5th and floor it. If the clutch is in good condition, the engine should bog right down. If the engine revs out, you need a new clutch. There are other tests but these are pretty fool proof.

3. When stationary, put the car into first gear and if slipping is felt, then the clutch requires replacing.
